How to request data

 

IMPORTANT: The use of the survey data for research purposes is subject to the Human Research Act (HRA; SR 810.30). Researchers requesting access to the data are responsible for submitting a request to the relevant ethics committee and obtaining approval or confirmation of an exemption. The ethics committee's decision must be submitted to the FSVO in order to access the data.

Before submitting a request, please check whether the data is at all useful for your project. The codebooks with the corresponding information can be found under “Documentation” and do not require registration.

 

To get access to data, the following procedure must be followed:

 

• Create an account (Login → Register)
• Go to the Data Catalog and click on the study of interest
• Once on the study page, click on the tab Data access
• Click on the button Make new request
• Fill in the application form and submit
• You will receive a confirmation e-mail of your request as well as the template of the Data Privacy Agreement
• Make a request to the relevant ethics committee attaching the Data Privacy Agreement template.
• Submit the answer of the ethics committee to datarepository@blv.admin.ch
• You will receive the corresponding Data Privacy Agreement for your project to be signed.
